As every mama knows, there are some moments when we just need a break to breathe and regroup from the chaos of motherhood. It's not always possible to drop the kids off with a sitter, enjoy a tall mocha at Starbucks (my favorite), or even take a nice long bath.
So, for those moments when I really only have a minute (or two), I made this quiet book for mamas filled with some of my favorite quotes and photos to help me breathe and re-energize when life is getting me down.
I used Blurb
's online Bookify tool to make a book using photos from my Instagram account. Blurb
makes it easy to drop the photos in, move them around, add text, and choose your perfect layout. The hardest part was choosing which photos and quotes to use! Here's a preview of how it turned out:
I tried to choose photos that anyone could relate to (although photos of my kids do hold special memories for me). The book itself is a 7" x 7" square hardcover with dust jacket, although you can choose a softcover or image wrapped book as well. The pages are nice and smooth, adding to the peaceful experience of perusing through the pages.
Interested in taking a closer look? You can buy your own hard copy of Peace and Wonder in my Blurb bookstore, and for all you ebook lovers, there's one of those, too! I receive about a $4 commission from each purchase, which would be a great way to keep more fun projects and ideas coming to the blog! Each book is 38 pages, with the hard copy starting at $19.95, and the ebook is just $4.99! This would make a wonderful gift for any mama on your Christmas list.
Would you rather make your own Instabook? Well you're in luck! From now until Nov. 21, Blurb is offering 15% off any book you make with the promocode FALLTHANKS. Make a 2012 family album or get creative with your own unique photo book!
What's your favorite way to share and display your treasured photos? On Instagram? I'd love to see your photos! You can find me at @makermama.
