If you've been with me from the beginning, then you know my blog was originally called Three in a Row. Can you guess why? Yeah, I only had three littles then. It was just a few months after starting the blog that I found out I was expecting our fourth! Needless to say a name change was in order.
Coming up with a new name is no easy feat, however, so my next banner was a transition piece.
I don't remember exactly when, but after one of my first mini-blog-identity-crises, lots of brainstorming, and some encouraging words in a workshop with one of my favorite crafty superstars,
Sister Diane of CraftyPod, I officially changed my name to Maker Mama. My blog name, not my personal name (although that's how most people know me).
Now how did I get that retroactive screenshot? The
Wayback Machine of course! Just enter a web address in the Take Me Back bar and you'll go back in time (online at least) to the earliest cached screenshot of your site of choice. (Here's what The Gap looked like in
1997--gotta love those plaid pants).
My last two blog banners were almost identical (but a trained eye can see that I used a catchy filter and font in that last one). I've always loved taking clever photos of the kids, but I felt like it was time to try something new. What do you think? Of course there will always be tons of photos around here.
What are the craziest transitions your blog has been through? Do you do your own blog design? Anyone brave enough to share their oldest blog screenshot?
