We've been keeping things simple during our summer here in San Antonio so far. I'm always on the lookout for fun (and preferably free) things to do with the kids, so I thought I'd start sharing some of our favorite spots in the Alamo city.
Today it's the Japanese Tea Garden, a public park which originally opened in 1918. With a beautiful lily pond, and several nooks and crannies to explore, the kids quickly fell in love. Located right next to the San Antonio zoo, it's the perfect spot for a quiet walk (and some great photos).
I found myself stressing out about them falling into the water and not running along the paths when we first got there. But after almost 10 years of having kids, none of them have ever fallen into water anywhere (although there has been some running into things and stitches needed). So I tried to let go and let them explore, and they were ahead of me every step of the way. I did get after this little guy for climbing the walls though--after a picture of course!
