October means Halloween celebrations for many of us, but here in San Antonio it also means Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead
. In looking for creative reuse ideas for Day of the Dead, I stumbled across a number of adorable gnome skeletons
. So I prowled my local Goodwill for the perfect ceramic gnome to decorate and share with you.
I found him for 75 cents!
I picked some colors from my stash of FolkArt acrylic paint and got to work.
I repainted most of the gnome, drying in between layers, and then used a Sharpie for the details.
I think he turned out pretty cute, don't you?
