Surprise, I'm starting a podcast! I've been an avid podcast listener for years, so although this was a very recent decision, it was not at all a foreign one. I owe a huge thanks to Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income for his amazing video tutorial on podcasting (it's 100% free and he takes you through each step of the process). Pat's podcast is one of my all-time faves (and I highly recommend it to any other online entrepreneurs reading this), but the first podcasts I became addicted to were all about the stories of creatives. I'm a bit of a jill-of-all-trades myself, and hearing about the paths of other makers and artists peaks my curiosity and makes my heart soar right along with them.
Last year I had the opportunity to preview musician and screenwriter David Kauffman's film, The One I Wrote For You, so when he reached out about the DVD release this month, I knew I wanted to interview him. I was first introduced to David through his music, and have had the honor of meeting him in person and even hearing him sing live. His words and voice are honey to my soul, and I greatly admire how he's merged his faith and talents.
Listen below for the first episode of The Maker View, and learn about David's musical beginnings, how he followed his passion and took the jump to begin his creative career, and his advice for those embarking on their own.
Learn more about David Kauffman and his work at The One I Wrote For You, Good for the Soul Music, and follow him on Facebook for news on his latest work. And be sure to get your copy of the film at your local Walmart!
Stay tuned next week for my interview with Mari Richards, the amazing illustrator and creative behind Smallful.
